History of Rothenberger
At the 1967 International Trade Fair for Sanitary and Heating Technology (ISH), ROTHENBERGER presented the famous R-system, which made a significant contribution to the company’s success. The R-System consisted of tools for expanding, extracting and bending pipes. Revolutionary equipment enabling installers to connect pipes without fittings, and alleviating the need for soldering sockets, T-pieces and L-bends.
The high demand for ROTHENBERGER products soon led to relocation and expansion. During 1974, the company moved to Kelkheim near Frankfurt, and the second generation of the Rothenberger family took over management. Heavy investment was made into developing the company, and in 1985, Dr. Helmut Rothenberger became CEO of ROTHENBERGER AG (which all ROTHENBERGER companies still belong to today). By 2013, Dr. Helmut Rothenberger joined the Supervisory Board, and Dr. Christian Heine was employed as CEO of ROTHENBERGER AG since 2016.
The quality, reliability and durability of our products have earned ROTHENBERGER a place in the tool cases of trade professionals worldwide. Over several decades, the company has built-up and expanded its capacities, establishing itself in many markets.
The family-owned company conquered the pipe tool market in countries worldwide, by establishing many subsidiaries outside of Germany, and investing in international brands such as VIRAX in France and North Africa, and SUPER-EGO in Spain and Latin America. In addition, the Rothenberger family provided special know-how to the core business by acquiring pipe tool and machine companies – always developing pipe tool technologies with user needs in mind.
Our entrepreneurial spirit and forward-thinking approach allows us to produce solutions which meet the needs and demands of our customer base – always one step ahead of the market. We believe in quality, diligence, dynamism and respect and see these as guidelines for our business activities.
In line with this corporate philosophy, we have identified 7 ROTHENBERGER basic values, on which we base our actions.
COHESION AS A FAMILY / TRUST / RESPONSIBILITY / EFFICIENCY / QUALITY / COURAGE / ENTREPRENEURIAL SPIRIT
